On my way home from work, I noticed something must have happened. The closer I got, the later the arrival time showed on the map. It turned out to be a serious traffic accident involving a truck.

An hour later, after I’d finally parked and started walking home, the sky suddenly opened up. It came down like the rainy season in Asia, sending everyone running for cover.

In a way, it felt like a small break — a moment to pause and reflect. I started thinking about how quickly life can change.

How one moment can shift everything. I was lucky to be hit by rain and not by a car, but it could have been me in one of those vehicles.

When I finished my last job of the day, I decided to stay a bit longer to prepare for tomorrow. Who knows — maybe those few minutes changed something for me. I’ll never know.

It doesn’t hurt to remind ourselves now and then of life’s fragility and unpredictability. Not in a resigned way, but in quiet gratitude for what we have.
