A curious heart has no age
I heard an interview with Veronica Maggio, one of Sweden’s biggest artists. As a measure of her success, she’s the number one female Swedish artist to have her lyrics turned into tattoos.
In the interview, they talked about her often being described as “being 17 forever”. She explained that she was quite bored with that epithet, and quoted a journalist who described her in a way she could relate to:
She’s broadcasting on a young frequency.
I love that expression! I also think it’s very obvious when people do that. Not just in music, but in any form of communication. It really is like another frequency.
Why is it that this comes so naturally to some people? I think we get the answer if we turn the quote around: they are receiving on a young frequency.
It’s people who are curious and interested in our age and time. They enjoy keeping up with trends, discovering new music, trying out new technology, exploring new places, making new connections...
They continue living life, not just staying alive. They are young at heart, and that’s what matters.
A curious heart is free of annual rings.
