I've been thinking more about yesterday's post about my mixed feelings about writing in English. While what I wrote is true, it's not the whole truth. Not even half of it.
I enjoy blogging in English because of all the opportunities it opens up in terms of platforms, services, and communication. In Swedish, the options are very limited if you want full language support (basically only WordPress has it, and I don't want to go back there).
I've always been a bit of a tech nerd, so it feels frustrating to have to limit myself when there are so many exciting tools available today.
My love for technology and the web is also reflected in the translation process itself. I find it both interesting and impressive with the translation possibilities that today's technology offers. I really enjoy it.
I could go on and list many more advantages, but that's not my point. What I'm trying to say is that it's very easy to forget all the positive aspects when you focus on the negative. Very often, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
It's worth reminding yourself of that when you start feeling a bit grumpy.
