Exemplary humanship
I rarely watch any kind of sport, but yesterday a tennis video caught my eye. The title was 6 Minutes of Roger Federer Exemplary Sportsmanship.
What a wonderful watch! A great athlete in more than one sense. No ego, just common sense and humility.
I wish there was more of that in today's society. Not only when it comes to sports. Just some human courtesy and care.
Like when I was grocery shopping yesterday. Three people in line before me. The cashier wished them all a good day, but not a single person said thank you.
It's sad. I'm sure she's so used to it that she doesn't think about it, but it still breaks my heart every time I see it.
Kindness costs nothing, but brings great value. Politeness isn't difficult, but makes you a master. Humility is available to all, but makes those who practice it seem unique.
Being human, that's what it all comes down to in the end. And this world could use some more "humanship".
