I love Andy Hawthorne's text Why Blog If Nobody Reads It? Among other things, he writes:

You write because you think, because you observe, because you need to put it somewhere.

That's exactly how it is! We write because not writing is not an option. It's a fundamental need, a way to process the world around us and the thoughts within us.

When blogging had its first upswing in the 2000s, I saw a sticker on a trash can that said:

"This trash can has more readers than your blog."

It's funny because it's true. The big difference, however, is that neither your blog nor mine is trash.

It is a treasure, but not in the form of income or number of visitors.

The blog may seem like a closed mussel to the outside world, but inside, every letter is a precious pearl.

It's a treasure of self-expression, a space where we can explore ideas, connect with others, and discover new things about ourselves.

Each word we write is a pearl, carefully crafted and valuable in its own right.

That's why we blog.
