Listen up
"Tell me one thing you hope people say about you."
That I’m a good listener.
That is the quality I most wish people would say about me. It is also the quality that has largely been lost in our modern society, unfortunately.
We have become so preoccupied with "me, myself, and I" that listening has become endangered. You can see it in people's eyes; they are just waiting for the first opportunity to have their say. It's like they hear without listening.
It is both a shame and foolish since we grow enormously by listening to and absorbing the lessons of others. We listen and learn, as the saying goes.
Let's make 2025 the year of listening!
