Never stop dreaming
I recently listened to an interview with the Swedish author Lena Andersson.
She shared a story about her father's skepticism towards her dreams of becoming a writer. He believed that one shouldn't pursue something unrealistic, as dreams can lead to disappointment.
And, as Lena herself points out, there is some truth to what he said. Most dreams fall apart; that's just how reality is.
But does that mean we should stop dreaming? Absolutely not!
It is not the broken dream itself that disappoints us. It is our attitude towards the dream that matters most.
If we think that achieving success is essential for our happiness and overall life satisfaction, then we will inevitably be disappointed if it doesn't happen.
However, if we are comfortable with the possibility that things might not work out, then failure isn't the end of the world. We will learn from the experience and move forward, which in itself is a success, not a failure.
A dream pursued with an open mind, accepting of any outcome, becomes a journey of learning. It is that journey, not the destination, that truly enriches our lives.
In short: never stop dreaming! Let the pursuit of your dreams be a testament to your resilience and your commitment to growth.
