Nostalgia vs. Reality
My job isn't quite what it used to be.
It's easy to think things were better in the past, and in my case, they actually were.
But is it bad now? That's the most important question.
'Things were better in the past' is a relative statement, often implying a narrow-minded and negative viewpoint. Furthermore, that imagined 'past' is usually heavily sugarcoated. Or, perhaps we even had it a bit 'too good' back then.
Of course, we should strive for improvements in all respects and not accept just anything. We learn from the past and strive for a better future.
As for my job, it's still the best job I've ever had, even if it was "better" in the past.
