Not knowing tomorrow
The Swedish investor Deqa Abukar is not only known for being a great entrepreneur. She's also known for her smile. When someone once pointed it out, she replied:
"I love life, and I think one of the most beautiful things in life is not knowing what will happen tomorrow."
Simple. True. No one knows what will happen tomorrow.
Not accepting this is the root cause of a lot of unnecessary unhappiness. The fear of the unknown, the desire for control, the urge to be prepared for anything.
We can make plans and somewhat predict what tomorrow brings. That helps. But at the end of the day, it all comes down to the same thing: we don't know.
What if we simply accept that this is part of life? What if we surrender ourselves to it? What if we, just like Deqa, even see this as an exciting part of being alive?
Maybe we would all smile a bit more.
