Now and then

"Memories are like wings, they keep you flying, like a bird on the wind."

Beautifully expressed by Al Pacino in his autobiography, 'Sonny Boy'.

Memories keep us flying in a double sense: they allow us to look back on beautiful moments, and they teach us to make better decisions in the present. They are our eternal guide through life.

But memories can also mislead us if we hold on to them too tightly. Painful memories can hold us back, and happy memories can make us compare and undervalue what we have in the moment.

We need a balance, as with most things in life.
