Pour your words out

I kindly turned down the offer when a client today asked if I wanted a cup of coffee. We sat down and he poured himself a cup. Then, of course, I couldn’t resist having one as well.

If he hadn’t mentioned coffee, I wouldn’t have missed it. I had no thoughts of coffee whatsoever when I entered the house. But when it was right in front of me, the urge arose.

I feel it’s very much the same with writing. Something happens when you’re placed in front of a keyboard or piece of paper. An urge, something inside you wanting out.

You had no thoughts of writing or what to write about, but now you’re doing it anyway. And if you combine it with a cup of coffee, nothing's gonna stop you.

Pour it all out (the words, not the coffee).
