Too many impressions

I visited the Chiang Mai Saturday night market. I’d only been to the Sunday one before. This one was pretty much the same, just in another part of town.

It’s quite an experience. An enormous variety of food, drinks, and beautiful crafts. And a lot of people, of course.

As I’d expected, my visit didn’t last long.

It gets too much for me. Too many impressions to take in, like the mind can’t really process all the input. Like trying to eat when your mouth is already full.

I get overwhelmed and nauseous.

The same thing happens when I visit any of the beautiful temples here in Chiang Mai. Or when I’m out in nature. I want to take it all in, but there’s not enough room.

Maybe you experience the same thing sometimes. If not, you’re not missing out. It feels more like a curse than a blessing.

I have yet to find anything positive about it. Anyway, it’s there, doing its thing... for whatever reason.
