Your blog won't explode

If you've visited my blog on more than one occasion this last week or so, you might have noticed a slightly different look — or even a huge change.

It's me playing around. Trying different styles and ways to piece things together. Trial and error.

I've tried both using mockups and a "fake blog" for this purpose, but it's never felt quite right doing it. I need to see it live to really know what fits and what doesn't.

Same with posts and pages. It's not until it goes live that I truly know if there's something I want to tweak. Removing something (which for me is more common than adding something), changing formatting, using a different word or phrasing, including a link...

Drafts and mockups are safe. No one sees them. But they are also deceiving because of that safety net.

Are you sitting on mockups or drafts waiting to go live? Put them out there!

Your blog won't explode if you do, but your head might if you don't.
