Bear building in the open

Over the years I've built quite a lot of stuff for Bear Blog. Themes, add-ons, plugins, fun little widgets, and more.

I've always had the same approach: make it "complete and perfect" before publishing. Investing a lot of time, tweaking and testing, then hitting the publish button.

Now I feel like trying something new to challenge that OCD way of doing things. Instead of "perfecting" things, whatever that means, I'll just put it out there and build it up piece by piece.

I've had an idea for a long time, but always postponed it because it's felt too big to handle. Hence this new approach.

I want to make it easy to pick small parts individually and build a Bear theme that feels truly yours. Various style options for header, blog list, upvote button etc. Different palettes to choose from and more. All with the default Bear theme as base.

A bonus effect I'm hoping for with this approach is that it will also be a good way to learn more about theme styling. Viewing smaller bits and pieces, grasping the logic, understanding what it does. Mixing and matching, tweaking to your liking, and ending up with something that's unique to who you are.

First out for this new Bear Blog library under construction are header and title styles. Up next is blog list options. After that, I have a lot of ideas for what I want to do.

Hope you find something useful already at this stage. If not, just wait a little, the library will keep growing, and growing, and growing...
